We talk about some of the characters out there like Jeremy (Japan Camera Hunter), Hamish Gill from 35mmc, EM from Emulsive, Steve at Chroma, Sam at Solarcan and Paul from Analogue Wonderland. Obviously Stephen knows many people, but he's not name dropping, far from it, he's actively complimenting and talking about people who are making the film community a better place for all.

So in this one we discuss:

working from home

spiders & red rooms

important BBC story from last year

photo walks

Selling during Covid

Blogging since 2012

Shooting cats

1st time developing film

street portraiture

Belarus film collective

Zorki & Fed cameras

David Collyer + Guardian

Random questions

Find out why we discuss tear gas!

A scoop on Dyson's next invention and why Stephen is the ultimate nosey parker!

Photographers

Stephen recommends a few important people he has come across with unique skills, so please do check out:

Clement Marion - https://kosmofoto.com/2019/02/paris-protests-minolta-film-clement-marion/

Nandakumar Narasimhan - https://kosmofoto.com/2019/04/the-indian-himalayas-on-medium-format/

David Collyer - https://kosmofoto.com/2020/05/photographs-hospital-coronavirus-film/

David Collyer (interview by Phlogger) - https://phlogger.co.uk/interview-with-father-and-son-film-shooters/

Pay it forward

Stephen recommended Rob Andrews from the London Camera Project - https://www.instagram.com/londoncameraproject/?hl=en

Links

Kosmo website - https://kosmofoto.com/

Kosmo film shop - https://kosmofoto.com/shop/

Instagram - https://kosmofoto.com/shop/

Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/kosmofoto.blog/

Phlogger (Andrew Walmsley) yes 1:29:23

The group shoots have been arranged by Jay Clarke at the x-church in Gainsborough. They are fantastic for learning, sharing, practising and networking.

During December I shot a wedding too, it was to help a friend's daughter out in my home town of Scunthorpe. After checking out the venue earlier in the year I anticipated my gear would not be suitable but arranged something to get past this. Hopefully, in due course in the new year, I can show you some photos from this session. Shooting in December indoor is never easy and without light, you have no photo, so it was challenging.

MEET UPS

In early 2019 we managed to catch up with a few faces at the Photography Show and it was the first time I managed to speak with the likes of Stephen at Kosmo, Paul at Analog Wonderland, Steve Lloyd at Chromas, Sunny16 podcast team, Sam at Solarcan and John Whitemore to name a few.

I was fortunate to catch up with Paul Lefko from L.A. during December. On the way home from meeting Paul, I dropped in at Cambridge to meet up with John Hughes.

PROJECTS

During 2019 the secret project ended, full details will be released in due course. The Washi project started and there was one update about issues with the camera, more details soon.

For 2020, there is a street photography project due which is tailored around a few individuals and talks are ongoing with some analog photographers for another too.

FUTURE

Phlogger (Andrew Walmsley) clean
